How vetting works

Getting listed on LoftPros isn't automatic. Before any pro appears in this directory, we review their project history for loft-specific work and require demonstrated experience with the specific demands of conversion buildings. Here's what we look at.

Heritage building experience

Has the pro worked in buildings on Toronto's heritage register? Do they understand the permit process and the material restrictions that come with it?

Conversion building knowledge

Do they understand what conversion-era systems look like, where problems typically hide, and what structural elements can't be changed?

Loft-specific project examples

We ask for verifiable examples of loft projects. Not one project on a portfolio page, but a practice that regularly involves these buildings.

Current standing and credentials

Licences, insurance, and professional memberships must be current. We don't list anyone who can't verify these on request.
